The establishment of this center is the outcome of twenty years of constant efforts by the Islamic Propagation Office in the area of religious information.  During this time the research department of the (Propagation) Office has made several achievements in the area of information and communication technology (ICT) which include the establishment of Balagh and Shareh websites, production and development of various Islamic software, compilation of thesaurus of Islamic sciences, documentary dictionary of sciences, and the establishment  of a digital library etc. On the other hand, the need to set up a specialized center to organize and manage data and Islamic scientific documents was felt. Given the importance of the task, this center is now playing a crucial role in the present structure of the Islamic Propagation Office.  It is to be noted that highly competent Islamic Theological Center and university scholars and professors were involved for the first time in the research work and compilation of the thesaurus of Islamic sciences which was also approved later by UNESCO.

Objectives

To compile and complete the thesaurus of Islamic sciences and the documentary dictionaries of various disciplines as a groundwork and basic foundation for modern religious propagation.

To review and introduce Islamic sources, documents and other related materials (including written, audio and video files) in accordance with scholarly standards.

To organize and classify religious information, producing presentable matter in the arena of information and communication technology (ICT).

To identify the latest scientific standards and information techniques so as to utilize them in religious researches.
